Embodied Listening Practice
This practice builds a sense of safety and grounds you in your body and the Earth.
Find a comfortable seat and tune in.
Come back to this practice daily. I find it aligns well with mid-afternoon energy when I need to pause.
This practice is wonderful after work (especially if you’ve been sitting all day) as you transition to your evening. Invite movement and a sense of grounding into your body. Notice how it feels to release the day and prepare for rest.
If you don’t have time for the full practice, take 2 minutes to go outside. Stand with your feet (ideally barefoot) firmly planted on the Earth. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. On the exhale, feel roots dropping from the soles of your feet into the Earth, anchoring you. On the inhale, draw up the energy of the Earth into your body.

Here we are exploring different forms of nourishment as a way to come into deeper connection with your body and inner landscape. When you slow down and tune into your senses as you experience each recipe or practice, you can learn how to nourish yourself at each phase of the cycle.

Roasted Root Veggies Sensual Embodiment
Embodied experience of eating. Make space to sit down and eat. Before you begin eating, take a few deep breaths to settle into your body. Notice your food. The colors, textures, the way it is presented on the plate. Tune into your sense of smell - what do you notice about the way the food smells? Take a bite of your food, slowly noticing the way it feels in your mouth. What tastes do you notice? Feel into the sensations in your body as you eat the veggies. What is opening up for you as you eat this simple dish of seasonal foods?
Allow yourself to savor your food and recognize the ways it is nourishing you. Developing a deeper meaning to your relationship with food and your body.
